Post 6: Postgraduate

In the following blog I will talk about the ideas I have about my graduate studies. The truth is that I have rarely questioned my academic future after leaving the university degree, but I think I am clear about the area in which I would like to work and study. This corresponds to the intercultural area of indigenous peoples and their proposals for climate change.
In this sense, I would like to make a short-term exchange of students during the bachelor's degree to know my personal skills to be alone in another country and maybe have to communicate in another language. I am interested in countries with good schools in Public Administration such as Uruguay, Brazil or Mexico; In this way, I could expand my knowledge through comparative policies, and considering that I really like to travel and analyze the places I travel to, I feel that it would be very useful for me personally.
In the long term, as I said before, I have not analyzed much the options that I have and those that I would like to have, however, it is something that I feel I have to do, since only with the degree is not enough. But I also feel that this will depend on the moment I graduate and also on the scholarships that the university can give me, because the economic aspect is always an issue to analyze in these cases.
Currently, I think that doing a postgraduate degree in New Zealand or Australia would help me a lot in my knowledge about the public management of indigenous peoples, besides being very interesting countries to meet.

Post 5: My future Job

One of the most recurring things in my life is to think about my work and professional future. For example, when I was a child I used to dream of one day being a great astronaut who traveled to the moon. As I grew up, my skills to open each technological device surprised me and my parents and saw me as a mechanical future. Finally, when I left school my purpose was to be an engineer.

My tastes for mathematics and knowledge in science led me to study Mechanical Engineering at the Usach. However this did not fill me at all and I felt that I wasn't personally developing in the social fields that really appealed to me.

At this time, I started to participate in several Mapuche organizations and I also started traveling a lot to the south. This opened my horizons and I rethink my way of understanding what I wanted to be once my university stage was over.

My tastes for intercultural issues as well as for my knowledge in mathematics and economics make me see myself working for some institution that works with Indigenous peoples in the management of their economic and personal resources.

Finally, I would also like to work teaching in some university about indigenous politics in Chile and compare it internationally with other countries. As well as teaching because we should be proud of the presence of the Mapuche people.

Post 4: Chilean TV programs

Hello everyone, today I will talk about my relationship with the Chilean TV programs.
Nowadays it is very difficult to find a favourite television figure, especially when you don't see practically anything on TV and when Chilean TV has become so shit.

I remember watching TV more frequently when I went to school, after arriving from school and doing homework there was plenty of time to watch the youth programs of that time, which related to the urban tribes of the moment like "pokemon", " emo ”,“ punk ”,“ gothic ”; they were some of these.
In these programs, boys and girls a little older than me proudly showed their appearances seeking to differentiate themselves from other people and they felt, why not, in mini stars of the television program. However its content did not go beyond that in appearance, in how extravagant a person can become, an extremely superficial transmission of content such as "entertainment", "realities", "matinales", between others.

Because of this I lost interest in watching television, if I had to choose a favorite television figure, some time ago I would have chosen Felipe Camiroaga, but currently I barely watch television, and the short time I see is for the news or "Estado Nacional" , so if I chose at this time the favorite television figure would be Monica Rincon, a journalist.

Post 3: Spring

Hello today I come to talk about the seasons of the year.
As you know, there are four seasons of the year and they last approximately three months each. These are due to the inclination of the axis of rotation of the Earth with respect to its orbital plane with respect to the sun, which causes different amounts of sunlight depending on the time of year in certain regions, as well as the duration of the day. Thanks to these variations, we have periods of marked climatic conditions, called summer, autumn, winter and spring that, at the same time, cause different changes in nature that can be used by people.
Also this explains that for a year there are 2 equinoxes (the same duration of day and night), in autumn and spring, and 2 solstices in winter (the longer duration of the night) and in summer (the longer duration of the day).
For agricultural cultures, mostly the American ones, they give similar meanings to the seasons due to their relationship with the land cycle, starting with winter, such as the rainy season; spring, like the time of buds; summer, like the time of abundance; and autumn, as a time of rest.
Now for me, the best season of the year corresponds to that of spring because it is the time of the year when the energies of the earth sprout and I feel a clean air after the rains, I see a calypso sky with very white clouds and the green on the ground dotted with flowers of different colours make spring really the most beautiful season for me.

Post 2: My Holidays

My best holidays were in 2017 in Lican Ray, La Araucanía with my mother´s family. It was a special holidays because we visited many different places with my cousins and brother. We learned a lot in a very short time and we really wanted to stay.

In Lican Ray there are many beautiful places nearby to visit on the lake route, including Villarrica, Coñaripe, Panguipulli and the Huilo Huilo National Reserve.

I remember that during these holidays we did many activities together with my cousin, we went out to play sports in the morning, on the way back we went through a really magical place called “Ziwilwe” which means “circular movement” in mapudungun, due to the influx of winds in the place, in the afternoon we went to visit the different lakes near Lican Ray and at night we used to go to craft fairs.

During these vacations I also visited a friend in Toten, and it was very cool, my friend showed me the most interesting places in the town and we also swam in the river, it was one of the most beautiful experiences swimming in that river.

Post 1: Mexico

The country I would like to know is undoubtedly Mexico.
From school I have heard about the wonders of the indigenous peoples of this country and they have fascinated me. So, why Mexico? Mainly because I would love to know the ceremonial centers of the Mayans and Aztecs and thus be able to know more about their culture. Also I've heard of the beautiful beaches and bohemian cities of Mexico.
I have always had the idea of being in Mexico, Peru and Greece because of the great history they hide in some of their cities.
The place I dream about is the pyramid of the sun located between the pyramid of the moon and the old city of Teotihuacan.  When I was a child I saw the movie “Apocalipto” since then I dream of knowing that place.
But the current security conditions in Mexico are not good and make it necessary to be cautious and very careful.
In short, Mexico seems to me the ideal country to know, it has a great history, it has heavenly places and also a good public administration school. Who knows, maybe I get academic subjects.

Post 6: Website

The website tah I review most today, almost to a custom, are the newspapers and the information radios because they are the media that allow me to keep information about the national and international contingency, mainly in the political sphere and to be able to relate in many occasions whith political theories that teach us in the university.

My favourite information website is the University of Chile ( https://radio.uchile.cl/ ) because it is radio 102.5 FM and Uchile newspaper at the same time. Then in the mornings I listen to the radio on my way to the university and if I am interested in any news I read it in the newspaper.

It is also a website that not only informs about sports (soccer) like most of the media, but also about politics, events and the university community. It is a great website. Information is power and in Public management information is undoubtedly a great tool.
